FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS – FAQ’S:
1. How do I make an appointment?
- You can make an appointment with a Family Practice doctor by calling 304/485-3300. You can call 304/485-7700 to make an appointment with a
Urologist. The receptionist will need to get basic information as well as the reason for your visit to ensure that enough time is allocated for your
appointment. You can also go through the Patient Login (www.movmg.com) to Request an Appointment. The phones are often the busiest on
Mondays and from 8:00 am – 9:00 am and during lunchtime Monday – Friday. You can make a follow-up appointment at the time of your office visit.
2. Does MOVMG accept my insurance?
- MOVMG accepts most insurances. Contact your insurance company to verify that the services will be covered or feel free to call the Billing Office at
304/485-4439. Your co-pay is expected at the time of your visit.
3. Is there a nurse available after hours to take my call?
- We have a Medilink (triage) Nurse available (304/428-3459) to take your calls from 5:00 – 8:00 pm Monday through Friday, on Saturday from 9:00
am – 5:00 pm, and on Sunday from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm. A physician is on call at all times. If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the
emergency room at Camden Clark Hospital or St. Joseph’s Hospital.
4. What if I have a billing question?
- If you have a billing question, you can contact the Billing Office Monday – Friday, from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm at 304/485-4439. The Billing Office is
conveniently located in the Mall clinic. As you come in the main doors to the building, turn right and go down the hall beside Bond’s Drug.
5. What if I need a routine prescription refill?
- If you need a prescription refill, let your doctors or nurse know when you are here for your appointment. You can also call the Message line at
304/485-3323 or use the convenient Request a Prescription Refill on our website (www.movmg.com) Patient Login. Depending on your medication,
you may need to be seen in order to refill your prescription. It is important that you contact your doctor before you run out of your medication.
Please allow sufficient time.
6. What is a Family Practice Doctor?
- A Family Practice or Family Medicine Doctor is a specialist who has completed 4 years of medical school, followed by 3 years of residency with
intensive training in all of the fields of primary care, including internal medicine, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Family Practice doctors are skilled to treat
most of the medical problems that come to their office. When referrals are needed, the family physician will coordinate the appropriate referral and
provide support and follow-up.
7. What is a Nurse Practitioner (NP or FNP-BC)?
- A Nurse Practitioner (Family Nurse Practitioner – Board Certified) is a Registered Nurse who has completed additional training in family medicine,
usually the equivalent of a Masters Degree. They are very knowledgeable about medicine and caring for patients. They perform many of the duties
of a physician and are supervised by physicians.
8. How do I choose a Family Practice doctor?
- You can choose a Family Practice Doctor by choosing one that is listed on the website by clicking on Need a Physician?, or call the Appointment Line
and ask for a specific doctor. The receptionist will let you know if that doctor is accepting new patients.
9. What if I am unable to keep my scheduled appointment?
- If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, please call the office as soon as possible to let us know. If you do not show up or cancel your
appointment, you will be charged a fee.
10. When will I receive my test results?
- You will be contacted with your test results as soon as they are available and the doctor has had an opportunity to review the results. Normal results
are often sent by mail. If the test is abnormal or further testing is needed, you will be contacted by phone as soon as possible. If you have not
heard anything in two weeks, please call the office.
11. What do I do about insurance referrals and pre-certifications?
- It is your responsibility to advise our staff if your insurance requires a referral to see a specialist or pre-certification prior to testing. Please allow
adequate time for the referral or pre-certification to be done prior to your appointment. If you are unsure, call the number on your insurance card to
see what is required. Please provide us with a current copy of your insurance card.
12. What if I don’t have insurance?
- If you are a self-pay patient you will be asked to pay prior to the visit or test. If you pay in full at the time of service, a discount will be given. If not
paid at the time of service, no discount is given. If you are having trouble paying, please call the Billing Office immediately.
13. Why do I have to give my insurance information and medical history all over again when I go through the new Patient Login
Portal?
- If you are already a patient of MOVMG, you do not have to enter all of this information again. We use the information on your original registration
forms. Just list that you are self-pay and it should let you easily go through. If you are having problems with your Login, call 304/485-4439 and press
"0" for the operator.
14. What hours are you open?
- Our hours are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The doctors and nurses go to lunch from 12:00 – 1:00 pm, but the phones and website
are available.
15. What other services are offered in your clinics?
- At the Belpre clinic we have lab services, a 64-slice CT scanner, coronary CT angiograms, with results interpreted by the Cleveland Clinic
Department of eRadiology, and a GE 1.5T MRI. At the Vienna clinic we have bone density, ultrasound, echocardiograms, nuclear stress testing, a full
laboratory, occupational health, family medicine and urology, with on-site x-ray services.
16. What should I bring with me for my office visit?
- Please bring your current insurance card(s) and a list of your current medications. Let the receptionist know if your insurance or address has
changed.
